(More customer reviews)The MURS Alert Probe system replaced a motion detection system alarm device with a 300' range. This is ok unless you have animals like deer, turkey, cattle and other critters that can get in the view of the sensor. The MURS probe sensor does not send an alarm unless there is moving metal like a car or motorcycle entering your property. We installed the probe inside our metal tubing that makes up the cattle guard. The metal pipe has no effect on the probe sensing other moving metal. It is approximately 1/2 mile from our house to the entrance. No problem with the signal. We like the MURS because it does not give false alarms and it greatly extended our notification time that some one was coming to visit. You should order the kit for the best price, which includes the receiver for you home and the MURS Alert Probe sensor. Most vendors show each piece priced seperately. You can use it out of the box, but I have two other neighbors that have the same sensor so I had to set the different codes on my set to keep from interfering. This was not hard to accomplish. The manual explains the process. The system is working perfectly and not interfering with my neighbors.
