(More customer reviews)I was excited to see how small and sleek this mount was for my 40" Sony Bravia. The original write-up said that it was a universal mount that fit TV's 32"-55", and that people with Sony Bravias had purchased it and loved it. Unfortunately, the item that they shipped was NOT universal, and could only fit a TV with a set 8"X 8" mount pattern on the back. The larger Sony's are closer to 12X12 or 16X16. I could only find Visio TV's with a mount pattern that fit this unit.
So this item gets one star for the implication that it is a universal mount. Beware and measure your mount hole pattern on the back of your TV. To be fair, the item that showed up on my doorstep said "MTR-6241" on the unit instead of MTRU (which is what I ordered), so maybe they sent the wrong unit to me, but measure and ask anyway before purchasing.
Amazon, once again, gets a 5 star rating for very quickly and courteously refunding my money.
But if you have an 8"X 8" hole pattern on the back of your TV, I would definitely buy this mount! Very cool, sleek, sturdy, and low profile if you need your TV to be close to your wall with a slight tilt downward. I was very disappointed that it didn't work out for me.
