Well I've had this phone for 6 days now and HATE IT. The base and all its components are fine. Its the handsets. As mentioned before the lighting on the handsets are AWFUL. I tried to get used to it until I had to answer the phone at night and even make a call. YOU CAN'T SEE THE NUMBERS OR ANYTHING ELSE IN THE DARK, or even a little light. The blue backlight doesn't help at all. Now I know numbers on handsets have been in the same place for years but when you're used to a handset that displayed lights behind all the numbers and characters, it very hard to get used to a handset that doesn't. Several times when I meant to hit the "7", I hit the *.
I totally regret buying this phone.I bought this phone at Christmas time. Amazon is the perfect place to find GREAT sales items during the holidays.
The set up features are basically easy to understand. Make sure you familiarize yourself with the button names and the exact positions of each. The answering machine is easy to set up, the speaker phone is great, the initial charging of the handsets charged quicker than what the manual said, and I LOVE THE GOOGLE FEATURE.
ONE MAJOR FLAW THOUGH.... The lighting on the handset is AWFUL! As with most phones when you press a key ALL the button light up. The only buttons that light up are the numbers. Every button above the 1 2 3 does not light up. So if you answer the phone at night you have to guess or familiarize yoursef with the handset to make sure you either answer the call or even hang up the line once you're done. Because of this, I only rated this 3 stars. It may sound picky but when you've used a previous handset for years where ALL the buttons light up, to go to one that doesnt its a bit annoying.
If you can get passed that, this phone is great.
