(More customer reviews)I have a Command Start 2000RS alarm system and needed to replace one of the remotes. On the alarm manufacturer's website, it says that the replacement remote is the one on this page. However, I have since learned that this remote is only compatible with versions of the Command Start 2000RS that are newer than mine.
And since it took me so long to figure out how to program my remote and to figure out the root cause of the problem, I missed the window of opportunity to return it and get my money back. Now I'm stuck with a remote that doesn't work and a car alarm system with no backup remote.
Some other things I learned: these remotes are available in two frequencies: 303 MHz and 433 MHz. The back of the remote should be marked with its frequency, but the color indicates frequency as well: green for 303 and blue for 433. The remote I'm reviewing was blue/433 MHz. (My old remote has a blue light too, but that's not enough to make it a match.)
