Wireless IP Pan/Tilt/ Night Vision/ Internet Surveillance Camera Built-in Microphone With Phone remote monitoring support Review

Wireless IP Pan/Tilt/ Night Vision/ Internet Surveillance Camera Built-in Microphone With Phone remote monitoring support
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Pros:
- Decent pivoting on camera (very decent range of movement)
- sharp picture (though you have to focus manually on the camera)
- pretty easy to setup if you are technically inclined
- lots of features like motion detection with emailing and ftp, video recording, etc.
- Night vision works perfectly; integrated controls for 4 cameras.
Cons:
- You do need to be technically savvy to set this up. There is very little documentation on how to do this. But it is very obvious how to do it if you are in the field. There is no GUI wizard to help set this up.
- No zoom
- When camera is using night vision you see a ring of red dots around the lens. So hiding can be a challenge.
- No SSL or encryption options. The web controls for this thing runs on HTTP. So capturing packets and seeing your passwords is very easy. So security is kind of an issue.
- I'm not sure about any support (Hardware, software, replacements, etc) because I haven't had to use it. But looking at this I have no idea who I would contact.
- Firmware updates - There is no option for the camera to go out and discover firmware updates. So you have to search for them your self.
- For some reason I needed to factory reset the camera to start using it when I received it. Not too much of a con but it made me think that this was refurbished or something.
Honestly, this camera being around $99 and having all the features that it does is pretty awesome. Other cameras with only half of option this has costs about $250-300ish. This camera looks like something that someone created, sold to a bunch of other companies (who just stamp their name on the front), and they are the ones who provide support for it. So you can get updates from them even if you didn't buy the camera from them.
For the money it's a great camera. It's not perfect but I'm certainly not going to spend $300 on one like this.

I was very satisfied to find this batterry available online. I called my alarm co because the sensor was continually beeping with the low batt alert. They offered to send a repair person out "for free", but said the batterry would cost $50.00!!!! I'm so glad I found an alternative. The batterry was very easy to install & only took about 5 minutes. Truely pleased.

Xtrememac IPULUV11 Luna Voyager Alarm Clock Listening System - iPhone & iPod Review

Xtrememac IPULUV11 Luna Voyager Alarm Clock Listening System - iPhone and iPod
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This thing irritates me because it's so close to what I wanted, and yet lacking in fundamental ways.
Pros:
It's small, sleek, doesn't take up a lot of room on my nightstand.
Sounds pretty decent for a clock radio.
Numbers display is a soothing blue color and has a dimmer adjustment.
Simple to set and adjust time.
Simple to play iPod.
Charges my iPod overnight and keeps it within reach.
Cons:
Limited function adjustability. Can't turn the alarm volume down below "5," which is loud enough to jolt me out of bed in the morning. I'm a light sleeper and I hate noise in the morning. Even when I'm getting dressed and listening to music, I don't usually want the volume above 3 or 4.
Similarly, the dimmer's lowest setting is still bright enough to light our entire bedroom. I have to turn it off completely to get any shuteye.
The control buttons are simple to use, but that doesn't mean they're EASY to use. That control wheel is hard to turn and imprecise. To adjust the display brightness you have to hold down the PLAY button and turn the volume wheel. But that's hard to do with one hand, in the dark, and if I don't time it just right, the PLAY button turns on the music at full blast at 4:00 am when all I wanted to do was check the time.
Snooze is difficult to work, because again, you gotta turn that dang volume wheel.
Also the Luna and the iPod are perhaps not as compatible as they should be, because if I touch the iPod at all after setting the alarm, the alarm doesn't always come on. And sometimes after I've turned off the Luna and removed the iPod, the iPod's alarm will sound again, and I can't figure out why.
Mostly this thing has looks and concept going for it. But the controls need a serious redesign for the real world.

Honeywell TE322ELW Long Range Weather Forecaster with Atomic Clock and Dual Alarm Review

Honeywell TE322ELW Long Range Weather Forecaster with Atomic Clock and Dual Alarm
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was initially delighted with this product when I bought it six months ago. It looks very nice and functions well. The display is easy to read. The alarms work (though as another reviewer noted you don't get two alarms per day). The gentle back illumination works nicely to let you read the display at night. I haven't paid much attention to the weather display except for the temperature and humidity functions, so I won't comment on those. But I have a few comments worth recording.
First, the unit has two parts. The remote temperature/humidity sensor unit that you hang outdoors isn't shown in the product picture on Amazon. It's about half the size of a pack of cigarettes and it has its own small temperature/humidity display. This unit requires two AAA batteries. If the temperature outside will ever drop below freezing, even for just an hour or two, these must be expensive lithium batteries (8 Energizer Lithium AAA 1.5V High Energy Lithium e2 Battery. 2 X Card 4AAA for example). That's because normal alkaline and titanium batteries deliver less voltage at low temperature, whereas lithium batteries give much more uniform voltage output down to about -40 degrees. If the voltage supply to the outdoor sensor drops too much, it will lose synchronization with the indoor unit and you'll have to "connect" them again.
That brings me to why I think this device is too complicated. When the device is new, or whenever the outdoor unit loses its radio connection to the indoor unit, the two units must negotiate which radio channel they will use to communicate. That's a useful process, because it allows them to choose a radio frequency that has minimal interference from other nearby devices. However, the process for doing it is maddening complex. You must remove the batteries from both units, then insert the batteries in the remote unit, then use an unbent paper clip to press the reset switch on the outdoor unit, then bring the units close together and insert the batteries in the indoor unit. After a minute or so they negotiate a frequency and the temperature of the outdoor unit is displayed on the indoor unit. You can then move them apart.
But you're not done. Having removed the batteries from the indoor unit, you must reset the date, choose a time zone and a bunch of other settings, using a combination of button pushes that is too complex to remember: I printed it out in very small type and taped it to the back of the device so I would not have to find the instruction book each time.
Finally, the atomic clock, like all such devices, synchronizes to the broadcast signal from NIST during the early morning hours, typically midnight to 5 AM local time. That time is chosen because the radio signal is much easier to receive at night. To get my unit to synchronize I had to put it on a window sill; it could not receive a strong enough signal from my night stand. That requirement is typical for so-called "atomic" clocks and watches. Fortunately it only needs to synchronize once a month or so to keep good time.
All in all, I'm glad I bought this remote thermometer, and I'm willing to live with the restrictions noted above. But you should be aware before you buy that this is not a "set it and forget it" device.

Pll Digital Tuning Am/fm Pocket Radio and Alarm Clock with Built-in Hi-fi Speakers

This is a good item if you are just interested in listing to the radio(talk shows ,baseball game and music). Channels are grounded and precise. The speaker sound is very clear, with adjustable sound volume. No need to use the headphones unless you want privacy.
Far superior to the JWIN JX-M3; I have both.
I'm just not sure what X is for in X-BBS, or the D is for in D-BBS or what the difference is between the JWIN JXM20ORG and this JWIN radio. They look exactly the same, but have a big price difference.

Hawking HomeRemote Pro HRMD1 Motion Detector Review

Hawking HomeRemote Pro HRMD1 Motion Detector

This sensor is very easy to install and get it working with MiCasa Verde Vera 2 Controller.
Very Sturdy construction.
Its very bulky, but solves the purpose.
Good coverage.

The Hawking Technologies HomeRemote Pro Wireless Motion Detector lets you expand and customize your HomeRemote Pro Monitor and Control System by allowing you to detect motion in and around your home no matter where you are. This unique motion detector works in dark or lighted environments and lets you assign lights or appliances to turn on and off when it detects activity. The sensor can also send you text messages or email alerts when it detects activity, giving you added security and peace of mind.
Pro service allows you to view activity in your home using a convenient cell phone interface. Note: This product includes only a HomeRemote Pro Wireless Motion Detector. An installed HomeRemote Pro Internet Gateway (sold separately) is required to use the detector. An additional monthly subscription fee is required to access all of the features of the detector. (Click here for a comparison chart between the Home Remote Pro System basic and pro-level services.)
Additional Modules Mean Added Security The HomeRemote Motion Detector lets you monitor activity anywhere in your home, no matter where you are. Designed to work well in both dark and lighted areas, the detector can be placed in hallways or an entranceway, or near doors and windows. You can use it to set lights to turn on and off when activity is detected, frightening and exposing potential intruders. Other modules can also be triggered by the Motion Detector thanks to the "Device Linking" feature. You can also use the sensor to send you text messages and email alerts when it detects movement in your house.
The sensor's long battery life (3 AA batteries included) helps ensure your home stays protected while letting you place it anywhere, without blocking an outlet or worrying about a power cord.
Quick, Easy Setup With true plug-and-play setup, it's easy to integrate motion detector modules into your existing HomeRemote system. Simply follow the wizard on the add/remove module page of the HomeRemote Web interface to add a new sensor to your customized system. Once this is done, place the sensor in any room of your house using the included mounting screws, and you're ready to go. It's that easy. Since it's wireless and battery-operated, there are no wires, cables, or any other special installation hassles to worry about.
How the HomeRemote Pro Monitoring System Works The HomeRemote Monitoring System lets you monitor your home, secure it from intruders, and control its appliances and power usage via a cell phone or an Internet browser while you're working, at school, or even traveling abroad. You can also use it to monitor your children or pets, or keep tabs on an elderly family member. And business owners can use the system to keep an eye on their premises or employees.
By connecting the Pro Internet Gateway to your Internet router, you'll effectively create a wireless network that "connects" your home to the Internet. And by adding HomeRemote Pro accessories to your home, such as the Pro Door Sensor and Pro Lamp Module, or other HomeRemote Pro-enabled products, such as Electrical Appliance modules and Pro Motion Detectors (sold separately), you'll have the option of remotely controlling your heating and cooling system, lighting, blinds, garage door, and virtually any electrical appliance in your home.
Award-Winning Z-Wave Wireless Technology At the heart of the HomeRemote Pro System is Z-Wave wireless "mesh" technology, an award-winning wireless standard for home automation. Unlike traditional remote technologies that rely on infrared signals, Z-Wave is not affected by walls or other barriers, and it offers two-way communication, giving you confirmation that your commands were received and executed. With Z-Wave, the guesswork and finger-crossing is taken out of the equation.
Because each "module" or HomeRemote Pro accessory acts as a repeater that extends the distance of the Z-Wave signals, with a few easily installed and strategically placed HomeRemote Pro accessories, your entire home can be covered in a matter of minutes without any hard-wiring or special installation.
Easy Set Up: No Special Tools or Wiring Required Setting up a HomeRemote Pro Monitoring System up couldn't be easier. Once you connect the Pro Internet Gateway to your router, you log into the HomeRemote Pro Web site, where you can customize your HomeRemote Pro System by naming the rooms in your home. (You can also personalize your HomeRemote Pro Web page with photos of yourself and other custom touches.) Then it's just a matter of plugging accessories into outlets throughout your home and adding them to your system.
The "installation" of HomeRemote Pro accessories is as easy as plugging in one of the several HomeRemote Pro modules into available electrical outlets. Once the modules, which are about the size of typical home appliance timers, are connected, you simply plug your lamp or appliance into it. The modules let you control appliances remotely (you can schedule them, or turn them on or off on demand), and they will also act as "repeaters" that effectively extend your home's Z-Wave wireless network. For more information on HomeRemote-compatible accessories, visit www.homeremote.net.
The HomeRemote Wireless Motion Detector measures 4 x 4 x 4 inches.
What's in the Box One wireless motion detector module, 3 AA batteries, mounting screws, and a user's manual.

I bought this item a few weeks ago and I have to express my apreciation to a job well done by philips. This under the cabinet ipod dock, besides the obvious reasons, that it saves counter space and keeps clean because it is not ON the counter, it also has all the features that can be found on any other ipod dock, and some that you can't find on any ipod dock, including the many preset stations that is very convenient when I'm busy in the kitchen. The sound is great and you can adjust the sound many different ways. This kitchen clock ipod dock is a definite winner. " 2 Thumbs Up " I recommend this to everyone.

Average Reviews:

Wow, First of all I love the option of 2 day delivery, it was well worth it. Second ,the Pyle PHS901CW exceeded my expectations. The unit is well made and looks more like a piece of furniture, than an Ipod docking station. Third point, the unit sounds great as is right out of the box. I'm not a Bose fan which is what most e-tailers and retailers push as the best docking station out there. This unit has more punch and features than it's competitors. The remote works very and my IPhone charges while playing music. I give this unit an 8.5 out of 10. Please keep in mind I have yet to see and hear a 10. I look forward to Pyle's next gen. unit.

This home theater tower brings a beautiful, powerful sound system, iPod player and charger to any room of your home. The 600 watt system is just booming with power, thanks to dual 3.5" tweeters, 3.5" mid-range drivers, and a 300-watt subwoofer that packs a massive punch. Simply plug in your iPod (classic, nano, and touch models are all compatible) and you're ready to go – plus, this unit charges your iPod, so the party only stops when you run out of music! But when you do, just turn on the built-in FM radio to keep the music flowing. There's also an alarm clock so you can wake up to your favorite music. Don't have an iPod? This unit is also equipped with a stereo RCA aux jacks on back – so you can plug in almost anything with stereo sound. Use the front panel touch controls or the included remote to adjust the volume, bass, treble, and even sort through your iPod's music. The blue LCD display is bright and crisp, and the cherry wood finish is elegant and clean. Includes a 110 V AC to 21 V DC adaptor.

Bose Wave Radio II - Platinum White Review

Bose Wave Radio II - Platinum White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Bose Wave Radio II is easy to use, has top-of-the-line speakers and has a high-quality build. I use mine as a TV stereo speaker. The auxiliary input works for that function and what I like is that it doesn't take up a lot of space next to the TV. Indeed, incredible sound for the size of the speakers. So why only four stars, not five? Because the Bose, for all the money it costs, is not a top radio performer. It has only average AM reception with its internal ferrite antenna and worse its FM relies on the power cord for what is truly a lame "antenna." So as a speaker, the Bose is great but as a radio it is well below par. For hooking up to your TV, the Bose is outstanding. But as a bedside radio? No way. You would be better off buying a 120-dollar Sangean WR-2, a 100-dollar Boston Acoustics Horizon Solo, or a 100-dollar Tivoli Songbook for your bedside. But if you're integrating the Bose into your TV home entertainment system and you don't mind spending the money and you're not fastidious about your FM reception, then you will enjoy the Bose.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Bose Wave Radio II - Platinum White

The Wave radio II delivers deeper tones and crisper, more accurate audio performance than the original. The key to the improved sound is the new dual tapered waveguide technology, exclusively from Bose. Engineers re-sculpted the interior of the Wave radio II to accommodate not one, but two 26" folded waveguides. These dual waveguides amplify the low-frequency output, reproducing musical notes a full one-half octave lower than the original Wave radio. The result: Instruments like kettle drums and bass guitars have a more natural presence. With such accurate sound reproduction, you can appreciate more of the intricate nuances of many instruments, including the human voice. You may even hear details in music that you've never heard before. There's also a new equalization feature for talk radio. It automatically compensates for the artificially boosted low frequencies found in some talk radio programs so announcers sound more natural. The Wave radio II is simple to use. Instead of buttons on the unit, everything is conveniently controlled with a well-organized credit card-sized remote. And setup is easy too. The digital FM/AM tuner, amplifiers and speakers are all built into the unit. Just unpack it and plug it in to enjoy Bose quality sound. The display panel is large and bright, with big, bold text that's easier to read from across the room. It displays more information now too. Radio station, current time and alarm setting are all shown simultaneously. You can also use your Wave radio II to enjoy lifelike sound with your TV, VCR, DVD player or computer, thanks to the auxiliary input jack. Or plug your headphones into the convenient headphone jack for private listening. You can even place the Wave radio II near your TV or computer monitor because the speakers are magnetically shielded to avoid interference with the picture image.SPECIAL OFFER: Receive a free premium backlit remote when you purchase by 3/31/09.

iMode Alarm Clock Radio iPod Docking Station (Black) Review

iMode Alarm Clock Radio iPod Docking Station (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was so excited to receive my iMode from my wife for Christmas 2008. All the main features seemed to work -- AM/FM Radio, iPod, Alarm Clock x 2 -- except the remote control. It comes with a battery. Since it didn't worked, I assumed it was drained and I replaced it with a new battery. It still didn't work. This was disappointing, because this was not a simple on/off remote. This remote allowed the user to complete EVERY function that can be done on the console of the iMode itself. This is a rare completely inclusive remote for the price.
I called the maker of iMode for a replacement remote since the product is under warranty. I was told to exchange it at the store for a new one (makes sense). I asked what to do if the store didn't have it, and Curtis told me to call them back for a remote. The store was indeed sold out of them, and was not planning on restocking after the holiday (holiday promotion). I called iMode maker back as requested. They told me that I must return it to the store, that the store must call iMode maker to explain that they sold a product with faulty remote, Curtis would then send the new remote to the store where I could pick it up. After all this above action taken, iMode maker told the store that the customer must request the remote under the warranty. I'm done...I left the iMode at the store and requested a full refund. I'm sad to write this review, since the product is potentially great (especially for the bang for the buck), but the low quality of the product and the low quality of the customer service and return policy/protocol, left me with the feeling of iMust Return My iMode.

Product documentation claims it covers an 360 degree area to a distance of 5 to 7 meters (roughly 15 feet to 21). In fact mine doesn't go off until I walk right up to it within four feet! I set it up in my small bedroom-size home office, and was able to enter, work at my desk, and leave without it ever noticing. Unless your intruder does jumping jacks within a couple feet of this device, it's worthless. I've sent mine back to Amazon.

I added this to my car, because I sometimes forget to roll the windows up when I leave my car. When professionally installed you can have your windows roll down or up, when you arm or disarm you vehicle. Whichever you prefer.

A great little device that I will count on to monitor our other home this winter. I emailed a question about using the device to the service center and had a response within a few hours (not bad for online support).

Bose Wave Radio - Clock radio - graphite gray Review

Bose Wave Radio - Clock radio - graphite gray
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the original, the first of its kind. Then came the copies. This radio from Bose may look pricey to you but once you know all you can do with this it is very useful and you don't mind the price anymore and think your money was spent well. The sound of this radio is VERY clear, you get every little detail in music, and it is lifelike and spacious too. I have seen this rado used in big stores, they just put one radio on one corner and the other on the farther opposite one, and the sound is amazing. Deep bass, clear sound, just like if there were a lot of speakers placed around the store. The FM Antenna is integrated into the electric cord and it can pick a lot more stations than any other conventional system, as much stations as a car. It's very sad to see people criticize this system instead of appreciate it. It has enough bass and it is always deep, except in RARE cases of songs that have too much bass and it doesn't go down deep enough to hit those notes. Just make sure to place the radio close to a wall, especially right in a corner, to boost bass by a lot! This radio makes FM sound like CDs and CDs sound even better than they should. You even have one RCA Input to connect something like your computer or DVD Player and enjoy great crystal clear bassy sound for movies and MP3s in your computer or games too. For movies you don't feel the surround effects as if they were behind you but they sound very spacious and clear, away from you, getting the feeling of almost surround sound, as long as you are close to the radio. Also if the radio is right in front of you the bass is way deeper, so if you will use it in your computer there's no problem since you'll have it in your desk in front of you. It is built from quality, and the speakers dont distort even at loud volumes. The only thing is if you go over 95 in volume the bass isn't as strong, but you'll never have to go over 75 or 80 for sure. This system is great even outdoors or at parties too. It's great to wake up to GREAT sound and it's very nice how the alarm starts quietly and gets louder slowly and also how the display dims depending on how much light there's in your room. This is a product you have to place well and use well, and you will enjoy it for years. I suggest the Bose Wave Radio Series 1 over a Bose Companion 3 and Bose Mediamates for your computer, mainly for even better sound quality then them and more surround soundish effects. The Wave Radio/CD Series 2 or Bose Wave Music System (new name for Wave Radio/CD2) just came out, and it wasn't over 3 months since I bought my Wave Radio for $350, so I was able to exchange it for the latest one for $500 with CD, even deeper bass, even more clear sound, louder volumes, same shape and size but it looks A LOT more cooler! It kills the first series by a lot in bass(it feels like a big subwoofer and all songs get bass no matter what), adds extra volume, sound is even more lifelike and has better imaging, especially for movies. It's worth the extra $150! Bose is the best in sound. Those who don't like Bose either bash them for the sake of it, bash them because of not doing thorough testing with their products, bash them by believing what "audiophiles" say in reviews, bash them with opinions more than facts and probably haven't even heard the Bose Product they are bashing. Get the Wave radio or even better the New Wave Music System and you will be happy forever with your system! It will surely become the main system in your house.(I have on my computer Bose Mediamates with a Klipsch sub, for my movies a Bose Freestyle with an RCA 650 watt receiver, for portability Bose headphones and CD Player and since I bought the Wave radio and then the Wave Music System, I've been using it more than the others, by the way it is great to wake up to a CD, thats another feature you get with the new Radio!) Bose is about making lifelike sound. If youd rather have fake sound with way too much treble, or fake bass that goes way past the levels of real bass(I am talking about insane deafning bass) then dont call that kind of sound lifelike please! Many radios may get close to the original Bose Wave Radio and Wave Radio/CD but none beat the newest Bose Wave Music system.
