I have just had this phone for a few days and I really like it. I was having problems finding a phone that was clear. Due to my Verizon dsl, clarity on the other phones I tried was not very good, but this one is great. I like that stored numbers are easily retrieved, and I don't have to go through every number until I find the one I want. The only thing that it does not have is the ability to use a head set with it. I had bought a head set at the same time, but there is no port for it on the handset. That is the only feature I miss. All in all, a great phone

I've had this camera for a month now, got this to watch my new baby in his crib. If you have any networking skills or play with your router at all, this thing is a breeze. So.. not recommended for everyone, but definitely better than a baby cam for the tech savvy. The foscam app on the iphone4 works like a charm. I can watch the little guy in his crib from anywhere on the internet.. (you must be able to open ports on your router, and know your ip address, or have a domain name pointing to your IP). My wife loves it because she can look at him from any computer, and also on her IPhone4. It's great to be able to control the camera from the iphone. You only get sound on internet explorer.. Doesn't make a lot of sense for me. WHY would you make a product that is only full featured with active-x? I had a little trouble in the beginning with it dropping off the network a few times, but I think it was a problem with the router, (upgraded the firmware on the router to DDWRT, and everything has been smooth sailing since)

I purchased one of these to replace my aged BR1000. I thought I would go up in capacity/runtime, and this unit is of identical form factor = no rearranging my desk. However the internals are different and this unit makes a very audible (not loud, but audible) hum from the charging circuit, whether on or off. I will be returning it and likely getting a battery for my BR1000, because the hum is going to drive me nuts.

Teac R-4INT Wall Mountable Internet Radio with iPod Dock Review

Teac R-4INT Wall Mountable Internet Radio with iPod Dock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wanted to like this iPod dock with internet radio, but I really wasn't thrilled with it. The foot print of this device is rather large (about the size of a sheet of printer paper). Set up was a bit of a pain with the dial "keyboard". The dial is a bit on the stiff side and I just found it irritating to use. Once it was set up using Pandora with the dock was easy but it wasn't any easier than using it with an iPhone and a speaker only dock.
Sound quality for this dock was good, but I didn't think it was anything spectacular. In fact, I think the sound quality on my cheap Skull Candy ipod pipe is better.
I'm absolutely not a fan of the "wall mountable" feature. To use this function, you would essentially have to put your iPod into the dock so that it is parallel with the floor. I couldn't imagine putting my iPhone into that dock with it in that position.
The dock works but I found the set up to be a pain and the size to be cumbersome. I suppose if space and money are no object it's an OK product but I wouldn't buy this if I were in the market for a new speaker dock for my iPhone.

I used this incubator for several years to hatch blue and gold macaw eggs from day one. Every single fertile egg hatched and all but two babies made it to adulthood resulting in 14 healthy weaned blue and gold macaws. Once I was done raising macaws, I loaned the incubator to friends who successfully used it to incubate chicken eggs with much, much better results than styrofoam incubators (even those with forced air). Brinsea continues to improve on this incubator all the time making it better and better. Whether you simply raise chickens or want to raise more exotic birds from finches to macaws (yes, it will handle all those egg sizes), it is almost impossible to mess up using this incubator. I actually had two of them at the height of my breeding period and I'd use one to incubate and one to hatch. Once I was officially done raising birds, I sold them on e-Bay with the buy-it-now feature and got almost two thirds of what they sold for brand new despite them being used for several seasons. This incubator is very much in demand among experienced breeders and used ones are very hard to find because people just don't give them up once they start using them, they are really that good a product. You do not have to spend thousands of dollars to get an incubator that will work. This incubator with auto turn cradle and even the extra add ons available to make it even more high tech is less than $1000 and works like a champ.

The first time I saw this item, it really caught my eye. I liked that you could turn it on its side to watch a movie! And I really just liked the look of the machine itself!! It didn't disappoint me at all when I tried it out. The sound quality is really good. I was nicely surprised. It's nice and compact so you can put it on your night stand or desk and for get it's there. I'll be starting college in a couple weeks and I'm moving into a dorm, so the smaller the better. This will be a good alarm clock for me and my room mate. With the back up battery, you can easily move it to the bathroom or where ever and not have to reset the time. There's only two cons I can come up with. 1. It really bites that there's no "Next" or "Last track" buttons on the machine though. You have to use the Ipod to change songs. 2. It's really annoying that the remote is not included. It's another $20 to get it. Other than that, the machine is definitely worth it!

LOC8TOR Lite Review

LOC8TOR Lite
Average Reviews:

Considering the cost, I am disappointed in the unit. It has a very limited range and you get a false direction when you use it. I put it on my dog and had her go in the yard. When I turned on the unit it showed that she was in the front yard and not the back. Bottom line is you have to play with it for a bit when you first try to locate anything. The other bad thing is the range, I was VERY lucky to get 50' away and still have a signal and this was in an open space. It might be good for locating keys but for dogs or anything that moves I would not recommend this item. Replacement transmitters are VERY overpriced, they should sell for half of what they want for them.

I'm usually very skeptical about purchasing items online, especially when it comes to this type of equipment, but I figured it was worth a try since I'm doing what WOULD BE a very expensive overhaul on my car and I saved $100's by ordering online. I purchased the product at about 11PM March 29th and had it at my door step by 2pm March 31st (a day sooner than estimated). I used this piece in my 2007 Mustang paired with the Avital 5303L alarm/keyless/remote start set-up and so far, so good. I'm very relieved and the risk was worth the extra $40 I saved by buying online instead of in-store.

Yamaha TSX-140 Desktop Audio System with iPod Dock (Gray) Review

Yamaha TSX-140 Desktop Audio System with iPod Dock (Gray)

(More customer reviews)
Let me start by saying, I'm a music producer that
enjoys a variety of different genres of music, so
when shopping for a stereo system I need for
the unit to be able to have all genres of music
sounding good.
I tested the unit by bringing my phone (with mp3s)
to the store I bought it from and played a few
songs. I could tell right away this stereo was
REALLY good. If you like way your music sounds on
a Bose, then you'll like the TSX-140. It really
sounds great, whether you're playing pop, easy-
listening and even sounds great when playing dance
music.
In addition to the unit being able to play audio
via AUX, I also wanted a CD player and USB input.
This box does it all!~ So, I was pretty much sold~
I actually paid more than Amazon is selling it for,
but I'd buy it all over again. To me, it's that good.
But don't take my word for it, go have a listen for
yourself~ I think you'll be shocked at the vividness
of the music you've been listening to all this time!

OPTEX Wireless Sensor Transmitter, 1,000' Range Review

OPTEX Wireless Sensor Transmitter, 1,000' Range
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought this transmitter with the control box a year ago for home protection, liked it so much I bought another.
I keep one in our driveway area to notify us if someone crosses our front yard boundary (I set it up to cover the 80' width of our front yard), the second transmitter I set up for nighttime motion detection inside our house should someone decide to go that far. Since we live in a cul-de-sac, the only real way into our home is through the front, so an intruder would first have to get past this first line of protection set up in the driveway. If someone should actually break into the house at night, the second transmitter would sound off when they come close to the bedroom to meet Mr. Springfield XD .45 :)
Excellent product! I may even buy another they work so well. You can have up to 3 monitors for each control box. Each transmitter is set up to make a different noise at the control box, so you will know what area the motion is coming from.
A year old, and the first one's battery is still going strong.

Timex T300B Digital Tuning Clock Radio with Nature Sounds Review

Timex T300B Digital Tuning Clock Radio with Nature Sounds
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am happy with this alarm clock. Period. It has some awesome features that I haven't seen on any other alarm clock. It also has some less useful features, but even if these were magically eliminated, you would still be left with a great clock.
UNIQUE and terrific features: 1. Sleep function: 90/60/30/15 min countdown at Normal/Low/Very Low volume. Here's the best part: the volume control on the side is over-ridden by the 3 sound levels. So if you want to fall asleep to low volume, the wake to radio alarm is at normal volume. (I don't know what Denys was talking about in previous review) Also, it can be a completely different station than the one you fell asleep to. 2. 3 alarms: radio or buzzer or nature or any combo. Easy to set a sort of progressive wake sequence: 1st alarm nature sound, then later radio, then last brain-splitting beeping. (see drawbacks below) 3. digital tuner. Try to find this feature in another clock for this price. Great reception. 12 FM presets (lots), plus 6 AM.
Other good features: decent sound from single speaker, three light levels from backlit display (though I would have preferred Indiglo), date on display, unlike others here I found it to be very easy to set all features "Buzzer" very much resembles the "beep" of a Timex watch, but much louder. The rhythm of the beeping increases every 10 sec or so. I'm a deep sleeper, and this works well.
DRAWBACKS (that would not keep me from buying this clock again, but why I gave it 4/5): 1. buttons a bit cheap feeling... whadya want for this price 2. clock/alarm set is forward only (bad), although you set hour/min separately (good). My last alarm clock had fast/slow, and you had to count around the clock to set something earlier - this drove me crazy. How hard could it have been to have up/down buttons? And there are already tuner up/down buttons there! 3. I was hoping (but not really expecting) that there was a bit more flexibility with the 3 alarms: ie. possible to set buzzer for all 3. Alas, the 3 alarms are one each of radio/buzzer/nature. 4. Nature sounds. All resemble white noise, as if recorded with a bad microphone. Not great for relaxing prior to sleep. However, surprisingly unobtrusive way to wake up in morning. 5. Backlit display on the lowest level is still a bit bright after your eyes have adjusted to dark.
Cheers Stink

Motorola Homesight HMEZ2000 Wireless Home Security Monitoring Review

Motorola Homesight HMEZ2000 Wireless Home Security Monitoring
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First, let me say this was one of the easiest to setup video systems I've ever worked with. It truly does setup in under 30 minutes. Additionally, it does have some nice features, such as the following:
1) Ability to text message your phone with a text message of an event, or a picture from the camera
2) Ability to daisy chain events if you have multiple components (but there are limitations, more on that in a sec)
3) Ability to send video to your email address (for example, the system could email you the video of a home event, such as the front door opening, to your work computer)
4) Ability to have multiple components in your system ranging from video, door/window sensors, to power controllers (for lamps, TV's, etc)
Ok, enough about the good, let's talk about the bad. This system unfortunately has too many limitations to be worth the price. Additionally, the limitations impair this system from doing what it's designed to do: Be a home security system. I'll take each limitation in order of severity (most severe to least severe):
1) This system can only record one video feed at a time. So let's take an example of a simple setup. Let's say you have the home base, one door sensor, and three cameras (one camera at your front door, the other in your living room, and the last in you master bedroom). You setup the logic of the system as follows:
- If the front door opens, arm all the cameras
- If motion is picked up by any camera, capture an image and send to my work email
- Additionally, if motion is detected, record a 60 second video (which is the maximum length of video you can record before the camera has to stop, reset itself, and wait for another motion event before it will record again), and send the video to my work email
So you feel really good knowing if your front door is opened, the system will arm itself and capture an image and a video of the intruder, and send it to you at work.
Well, here's what happens in reality. The front door is opened, and the system arms correctly. The front door camera detects the motion of the front door, and the intruder entering, so it snaps a image and sends to your work email. Then it starts to record. Well, the intruder quickly moves to the living room, so the second camera detects motion, and tries to capture an image. Unfortunately the front door camera is still recording, so the living room camera is ignored. No picture is taken, and no email is sent. The living room camera then tries to record video, but because the front door camera is still recording, again the living room camera is ignored. The same this happens as the intruder enters the master bedroom. In fact, all cameras other than the front door camera will be completely ignored until the front door camera finishes recording. So as you can see, this isn't much use as a security system as it will likely miss the action, unless there is only one camera in the entire system. I spoke to tech support about this, and they said the only thing I could do was to shorten the video time to the lowest setting (10 sec). I did this, and yes, this does sort of work, but you end up with multiple 10 sec videos, with some dead space of no recording in between the short clips. Additionally, you still end up missing events if two cameras trigger within 10 seconds of each other. Again, this is not an effective way to get a complete video of what's occurring at multiple cameras.
2) The system can accommodate a total of 12 wireless cameras, 3 wired cameras, and 16 other devices (door switches, repeaters, power controllers, key stations, and sirens). This makes the system sound very flexible, with the ability to capture a lot of different events, and control many aspects in your home. But the thing that is not highlighted or explained in any online reviews is that the system can only have a total of 16 events that it can monitor. And two of those events are already taken by the system for Home, and Away settings, and you cannot delete those from the event scheduler, so in reality, you only have 14 events that you can monitor. And keep in mind, if you want to monitor or do anything with any individual component, that will take up at least one event. So let's look at a somewhat complex system. Let's say you have 8 wireless cameras, 1 key pad, 1 siren, and 3 door switches. So obviously, you'd like to monitor each of the door sensors, and have them set off the alarm any time someone comes through the doors, so that will take up three events from the event scheduler, so now you are down to 9 events left. Now you want to monitor motion at all the cameras, so that's 8 more events, and now your left with one event left. Now you want to use the keypad to arm and disarm the system. Well, that's an additional two events, so too bad, you can only have the keypad do one or the other. And what if you wanted the system to auto arm and auto disarm during the week nights, and do the same during weekend nights, but at a different times for the week versus the weekend. You would need an additional 4 event slots to do that. So too bad, you are stuck, and will have to decide if you want to take back some cameras, forget about some door switches, or take back the keypad. To me, this was the most ridiculous part of the whole system, and really indicates to me that Motorola pushed this system out to consumers under-developed. I guess they figure the average person would only have one or two cameras. I had only 3 cameras, and one door sensor, and I still ran out of events.
3) Event Daisy Chaining - The system allows you to daisy chain actions in one event, or I should say, is supposed to allow you to. For example, let's say a door sensor is triggered, and you want to arm the system, take a picture at every camera, and sound the siren. Well, in theory it should work, and according to tech support the system should be able to do it, but in reality, its more than the hardware can handle. What really happens is that it arms the system correctly, takes a picture with the first camera listed in the daisy chain, and then stops and does nothing else (including sounding the alarm). Again, this is a clear indication of pushing this out on consumers before it was truly functional.
4) Picture Quality and Signal - This system works in the 2.4GHz range, the same as other wireless devices (routers, phones, lan cards, etc). It should be able to run in this space without any issues, but unfortunately that's not the case. All of the cameras had static, and a static line that would go from top to bottom ever 10-20 seconds, similar to old TV's with antennas (for those old enough to remember). And on top of that, the images/videos were not very clear. Granted, this is 320x240, so its not going to be high in detail, but after using other cameras using this same resolution, I can clearly say that Motorola just plain used a poor quality camera.
These were enough limitations to drive me to take this product back. I'm not sure if these limitations will be fixed over time, but I doubt they will be able to correct most of the problems, since I believe they are hardware related (such as one video at a time). I would highly recommend another solution if you are considering a multi-camera setup. I ended up going with the D-link DCS-5300W, which is a far superior product. I can now record up to 16 camera feeds at once, and they are crystal clear with no static whatsoever. Also, the cameras pan and tilt, giving me even greater flexibility. Granted, the price for the cameras is greater for the D-link, but you don't have to purchase a home base, nor do you even need a computer for that matter. So in the end, I paid about a $150 more for the D-links, but I'm a much happier customer.
Hope this helps in making your decision.

SE-0302OR Electronic Defense Whistle. Orange/White Review

I was suprised by how the whistle sounded, I was expecting a car alarm type of sound by it was more shrill almost like the sound a phaser makes on Star Trek. It is pretty loud but I'm not sure if it would be enough to deter anyone. The LED light works pretty well and the red blinking feature is pretty neat. All in all a nice looking gizmo, but I would suggest you not rely solely on this device alone for personal security.

Panasonic 5.8 GHZ Single Handset System Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System (KX-TG4321B) Review

What I like most about this phone is that it uses 2 AAA batteries (rechargeable included). The battery in my previous phone would die every year and its cost was ~17$ (almost half the price of a new phone).
Pros: Very good voice quality (also with the speaker), easy to use answering machine, light weight, 5.8G doesn't interfere with my wireless.
Cons: none so far.

Packed with contemporary features, the Panasonic KX-TG4321B 5.8 GHz Expandable Cordless Digital Answering Phone System includes handy call waiting and caller ID features, an all-digital answering machine with 12 minutes of recording time, a 50-station shared phonebook, and a digital handset speakerphone.
With the Panasonic answering system, you'll never miss important calls, even when the ringer is off. The integrated light-up indicator featured at the base of the handset's antenna will flash quickly when an incoming call is in progress, and will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message. Should you choose to expand the answering system to include additional handsets, each handset can be programmed to ring or simply flash at your discretion. The system is compatible with up to three additional handsets (for a total of four).
In addition to the standard call waiting feature, this system comes with call waiting caller ID2, a feature that allows you to see who's calling you if you're already taking a call. Other great features include a 50-station shared phonebook, a handy charge indicator, a backlit LCD display, and a convenient intercom feature. Providing up to five hours of cordless talk time, the handset's rechargeable Ni-MH battery offers up to 11 days of uncharged standby battery life.
What's in the Box Base station, and one handset.

Product worked as expected but had trouble figuring out how to get it to delay on and then to terminate when voltage removed. JMac who sold the item was very helpful in figuring this out through emails. Thanks very much.
