(More customer reviews)If you're looking for an iPod speaker system, this is an incredible value. There are so many choices in this space and most are garbage. iLuv, iLive, iHome, iwhatever - most are extremely mediocre with really lousy sound. This is in a different category sonically. In short the sound is excellent. It will easily fill the room without sounding muddy or tinny. Nicely balanced sound. The iPod integration operates as designed. It would be nice to have a more robust interface to completely control the iPod in the same way you actually use the iPod, but the IK150 leaves little control beyond advancing the track or adjusting volume. And that's okay - for the price point it's a great value. Would I rather have a Bose Wave radio? Sure, but you could buy three of these for that price. It also has a solid feel, sexy appearance and nicely simplified controls. My 8 year daughter runs every feature without issue. The white is gorgeous incidentally - looks very nice in my daughter's room. I know - she's spoiled.
Timer, auxiliary in, externally antenna input - nice extras and goes to Kicker's thought process. Or rather is evident that they had one.
Biggest (only) complaint? The volume at it's lowest setting ('1') is too loud. Zero is off completely. If you're going to sleep with music, it really is louder than you would care to have it. Even for background music, it may be too loud for some. It badly needs a '.5' or one more increment of lower sound. I guess you have to ask yourself how often you would use the timer feature. Kicker: fix this and it's perfect.
UPDATE 5/16/2010:
Just spoke w/Kicker. Apparently there is an updated software version addressing the volume issue. If you press M2 & M3 while plugging the unit in, it will display the current software. Mine was 6.6, should be 7.0 as of 6/16 2010. Bummer is the entire unit needs to be sent to Kicker. I'm stuck with shipping there, they pay for return shipping. Will repost once the unit gets back and comment on the 7.0 software update - see if it fixes the volume issue.
