(More customer reviews)This is the third remote starter I installed on different cars in about the last four years. This Ultrastart car starter is well made! I'm glad I chose this one. If you're not comfortable around vehicle electronic systems though, I strongly suggest you have a professional installer do the work. Clip the wrong wire or short something out and you could be looking at a very expensive repair! Todays cars have an un-Godly amount of digital electronics in them. If you're a DIY'er, like me, make sure you take your time and study the forums and read what others have learned and encountered while installing their car starters. Newer cars have anti-theft electronics built in and depending upon how electrically savvy you are, you can find good work-arounds without having to purchase the different types of bypass modules. A lot of the extra bells and whistles that come with remote car starters are not required to be wired in if you just want to remote-start your car and continue to use your regular alarm/doorlocks keyfob. I wanted a car starter that I could start from the locker room where I work. The parking lot is about 1000 feet away. There are trees and buildings in the way. I can start my car from the window in the locker room! And I get audio and visual confirmation back to my LCD keyfob that it did indeed start! By the time I get to my car, it is toasty warm! The miracles of modern technology!! When you install this or any other car starter remember to follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety procedures!! Make ABSOLUTELY sure you install the hood pin safety switch! This disables the remote start when the hood is popped for maintenance. Don't cut any factory installed wiring. Carefully strip away about 3/8 inch of insulation and SOLDER and TAPE all connections with good quality black electrical tape. Quick splice connectors are not trustworthy in the long term. You'll have trouble later. When you think all the connections are made, and everything is ready, before powering up the module... CHECK EVERYTHING AGAIN! You may find a mistake and you'll be glad you did. Fellow DIY'ers... go forth and install your car starter!!
